Walking into 2023 with Merlin

In preparation into our journey into 2023 we are asked to imagine a forest pathway that leads through a canopy of tall trees. Before you begin your walk down the woodland path you are encouraged take a moment to close your eyes and inhale a deep cleansing breath, hold this breath and allow your body to relax and then when you are ready, exhale and breathe out any trepidation or uncertainty about moving forward. Now take a moment to move into your heart, place your hand on you heart and lightly tap upon this powerful energy centre and set a clear intention to support your journey into 2023.
You are now ready to venture forth and follow the pathway that winds through the trees; you are surrounded by the four essential elements of life, earth, wind, water and fire. Notice the soft forest floor beneath your feet, the gentle breeze upon your face, the sound of trickling water and the sun warm on your face.
With each step you relax into the rhythm of your breath and allow the beauty of the forest to cleanse and clear your energy field as you move into childlike wonder. As you venture deep into the forest you notice a huge ball of violet light coming towards you and it seems to dance and float across the landscape. As this light draws closer it shapeshifts into a man dressed all in purple with a staff in his hand and a gleam in his eyes. Merlin!
Merlin Speaks:
It is a delight to be your guide as you make your way through the woodland forest and journey into this auspicious year of 2023, I am here to offer support and share magic with you as you venture forward. For the journey ahead you will need a sense of wonder, an attitude of delight, joy and laughter. To embrace these attributes it will be important to release any baggage that no longer serves you. The more you allow yourself to release your old hurts and stories of pain the stronger, more expansive and ready you will be for the next adventures that await you in life. Before you embark upon the journey I would like to offer you some gifts to support you.
The first gift I offer you is a staff; take a moment to tune into your unique staff. Your staff is designed especially for you, notice does your staff have a crystal on the top, or feathers, notice if it is made of wood, silver or gold? The staff presented to you will be as individualistic and unique as each of you. Allow yourself to see and feel your unique staff, and trust that your staff represents support.
The second gift for you is a cape, to receive this gift I suggest you close your eyes breathe deeply as I place your cloak upon your shoulders; notice if your cape is an invisibility cape, a rainbow cape, a warm woolen cape or a gossamer cape of light, your cape represents strength and protection.
The third gift is footwear, notice are you bare foot thus allowing your connection to kiss the Mother Earth, or do you wear hiking boots for strength and endurance, are your feet snuggly in moccasins to lightly trend on the Pacha Mama, or party slippers to dance with joy. Your footwear is your support and will ground you to the earth. All three of the gifts will support, protect and connect you as you journey into 2023.
The Trees as Teachers:
As you walk through the forest I invite you to notice the trees as they stand tall and strong, their roots reach deep into the forest floor. The trees are the epitome of being grounded and receive their nourishment from sweet Mother Earth. The root systems of the trees are interconnected to each other and through this underground connection they support one another. They communicate in a magical and mystical way, you may not speak the language of trees but you can still learn from the standing ones, they can teach you that you need one another, and the importance of community.
In this year of 2023 it will be important to embrace community to allow support from others, and to give support when needed. You are all one and are connected to the beauty and strength of Mother Earth. I ask you to take an intentional momen, close your eyes and breathe deeply and feel the interconnectedness to your surroundings. You are a part of the trees, rivers, lakes, mountains, and ocean. There is a life force that flows through the Mother Earth and all who reside upon her belly, and you are a part of this vitality and each of you makes a difference.
In this year it will be essential for you to honor your connection to the earth and be as grounded and solid as you can be. The energies upon the earth will continue to shift and change at a dynamic speed. You will notice that day to day there will be instability in many aspects of your consensual reality. This will affect your politics, weather patterns, and social systems. With this in mind it will serve you well to remain rooted and strong in your values, trusting in your knowing and not going into the drama and chaos that will be unfolding around you.
Imagine the forest in a high wind storm with lighting flashes and pelting rain. The trees bend and sway in the wind, they release some branches and leaves but for the most part they remain strong and proud. You are encouraged to be like those trees, flexible, bend and sway but remain rooted and strong. This will serve you in this auspicious year ahead.
I Merlin ask you to once again expand your imagination and notice your staff, cape, and footwear. Notice if you have the same staff and remember it is there for you for support for this journey but also going forward. Allow you to feel the cape and remember it is for strength and protection. Observe your footwear that helps you to be grounded and connected to the Mother Earth. Breathe into your feet and ground yourself into your body.
Merlin and the Oak Tree
As you walk further into the forest remember to always enjoy the journey it is not the destination but the ride along the way that is important.
We have come to the mighty Oak, the oak represents strength and endurance two quality’s you will need in 2023. I invite you to stand beneath the branches of the Oak Tree and take time to just be. Allow your breath to be soft and quiet and absorb the strength and magnificence of the ancient spirit of the oak tree. Oaks have been known to live over 1000 years and have been witness to generations coming and going. As you sit beneath this tree call upon your ancestors to come and sit with you awhile. Thank them for creating you, the miracle of life that is you, thank them for living their lives the best they knew how. Forgive them for their imperfections and acknowledge the men and women who are a part of your lineage. Take some time to absorb the ancient wisdom of the Oak. As you sit beneath the Oak Tree you observe acorns spread at the base of the tree. Within the tiny acorn is the potential for a gigantic tree.
Self-Empowerment Suggestion to welcome in 2023:
Take a moment to imagine you are holding the acorn and breathe into this seed your intentions for moving into 2023. Now with the oak tree as you witness, you dig a hole in the rich soil and plant your acorn filled with your intentions, dreams, and desires.
Breathe into your feet and ground yourself into your body as you prepare to step forward.
Empowerment Prayer:
Grandmother Oak I ask for your support as I venture into 2023,hear my prayers as I softly whisper them, receive my intentions, dreams and desires and support me to bring them to fruition.
I am Merlin and I remind you to embrace the magic and wonder of life.
